Our systemceram FAQs – You have questions, we have answers
The holes for the tap and pop-up waste have a diameter of 35 mm.
Metal abrasion often occurs in the sink when pots, cutlery, or stainless steel containers are dragged across the ceramic surface. This is because the glaze of the ceramic sink is harder than metal, and the softer material naturally rubs off on the harder one. This metal abrasion can be removed effortlessly and without leaving any residue using the right cleaner and a bit of scrubbing. Suitable cleaners include BioTopp or ceramic hob cleaners such as Stahlfix Classic.
Scratches, on the other hand, occur very rarely due to the high degree of hardness of the glaze; potential causes include quartz, silicon, topaz, corundum, and diamond. These are seldom found in everyday kitchen use. However, pots or roasting pans with sand residue, ceramic knives, other unglazed ceramics, or diamond rings can also lead to scratches. You should avoid dragging these objects across the ceramic surface.
But now to the original question! The subtle difference lies in the feel: run your fingernail over the area in question. If you do not feel an indentation, it is merely metal abrasion, which you can remove by simply cleaning. However, if you do feel an indentation, it is indeed a scratch, meaning the glaze has been damaged at this point by a harder material. In this case, please contact your kitchen retailer; they will certainly find a solution for you.
A selection of high-quality raw materials is fired at high temperatures using state-of-the-art technology, creating a very dense and durable material. This stands out from the mass of ceramic products due to its exceptional product properties and has been used for decades under the harshest conditions in laboratories—in some cases even mandated by regulation.
In the ‘Accessories’ section, you will find many useful aids that facilitate work at the sink; be it a waste bowl, which can be a useful aid for food preparation, such as vegetables or salad, or a folding mat, which expands the functional possibilities around the sink. In addition to these functional aids, we also offer accessories that visually and practically enhance the sink, such as the Sink Cover or the soap dispenser.
Thanks to its exceptional abrasion resistance, the sink retains its timeless beauty even after years of use. During the manufacturing process, the sink is fired after the glaze is applied, which prevents colors from fading over time, meaning the ceramic sink is UV-resistant and lightfast. It can therefore be installed in front of a window without any concerns.
In many cases, the sink is used not only as a “washing-up area” but also as a “preparation area”: tomatoes are sliced, salad is washed, meat is seasoned, garlic is chopped… None of this is a problem, because our ceramic sinks are not only cut-resistant but—thanks to the smooth ceramic surfaces—completely odour- and taste-neutral when handling food. A soft sponge, washing-up liquid and warm water are sufficient to quickly remove any residues. Think of your ceramic cups and plates, which you drink and eat from every day and which are also easy to clean hygienically and are absolutely taste-neutral.
Sometimes, in a hurry, you look for a place to set down a pan or pot that is far too hot. The sink’s drainer is perfectly suited for this purpose. Our sinks are fired in the kiln at 1240°C; therefore, a hot pan represents no challenge at all and can be set down without hesitation.
Nothing. The kitchen ceramic is a sister product of our laboratory-grade ceramic. As the name suggests, this ceramic is also used in everyday laboratory work in the form of laboratory worktops and sinks, where it effortlessly withstands all acids and alkalis that might drip onto the work surface. In the household, it is no different—you can work confidently with common household chemicals such as vinegar-based cleaners and the like on and around the sink or worktop. Even intensely colored juices such as beetroot juice leave no traces.
The exceptional durability of KeraDomo kitchen ceramics, as a sister product to laboratory ceramics, makes it the ideal material for all areas that must meet extreme requirements: it is impact- and shock-resistant, heat-resistant, acid-resistant and hygienic. The high material density and load-bearing capacity of this porcelain stoneware, fired at over 1,200°C, is the result of the company’s experience as a supplier of sophisticated laboratory equipment. That is why we offer a 5-year warranty on our KeraDomo kitchen ceramics products!
The determining factors are the base cabinet dimensions and the decision whether the sink should be installed in the classic manner, flush-mounted, or undermounted. Systemceram offers functional solutions for all requirements with single and/or double bowls, waste bowls and waste outlets. Currently, sinks are available in 14 contemporary colors and a convincing variety of shapes. Function-enhancing and practical accessories as well as high-quality faucets complement the range.
Lime and dirt find hardly any grip on a CleanPlus sealed surface. If all care instructions are followed, this special surface protection remains effective for a long time. For cleaning, dish soap or mild vinegar and all-purpose cleaners are sufficient. Aggressive and abrasive cleaning agents can destroy the CleanPlus properties and scratch the glaze.
The ceramic surfaces are particularly easy to care for and remain beautiful to look at for many years. A dishcloth and sponge are sufficient for simple care. For intensive cleaning, we have a skin-friendly bio all-purpose cleaner in our range. Effective against limescale, stains and mould.
Our CleanPlus special coating, with which we can equip all our sinks on request, prevents coarse dirt and limescale residues from adhering. A soft cloth is sufficient to wipe the surface clean with virtually no residue.
